Books and Beyond was formed in 2021 and is one of the newer philanthropic programs of the Action League of Bellingham, serving young children and students throughout Whatcom County. The purpose of this program is to coordinate with local school districts as well as non-profit agencies for the promotion of childhood literacy. The program encompasses both new and used books. The Action League, in conjunction with the Scholastic Company, provides funding for schools and non-profits to order new books for their classrooms, libraries or specialized programs. Used children’s books that are donated to the Action League are distributed to local non-profits.
